To escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney a quick ferry trip out to Manly takes you to a much more quaint and cute beach town. I loved spending a day on Manly beach and found it so relaxing. There’s a strip of shops and restaurants as you walk towards the beach so there’s still plenty around to do (and it does actually get quite busy) which makes for a great day trip with friends from Sydney.
The ever-coveted beach of Sydney, Bondi is great for views over the Bondi Icebergs and being around plant of people. It gets extremely busy on hot day, particularly at the weekend, so make sure you’ve allowed enough time to get there since the public transport will be very crowded. When me and my friend went we actually did a half an hour walk instead of getting the bus to the beach because the queue was so long it would probably have taken half an hour anyway. The next time I went I managed to get there early in the morning before most locals were making their way over and it was way easier. A great tip to escape the crowd on Bondi beach is to head to the rock pools at the far left of the beach rather than the main part towards Bondi Icebergs.
1. Tallebudgera Beach
This hidden little gem is an amazing find if you’re in GoldCoast. With hardly any people about it’s the most tranquil place I’ve ever been to. You get to it by going through Burleigh Heads National Park which is also a great place to explore (Tumgun lookout with the view of Tallebudgera Creek. The water has a really strong current in it so be careful swimming too far out in the sea!
